Providing Consultant Pharmacist Services for our frail, elderly nursing home population is a core mission to us, and is at the heart of our name. Through the performance of comprehensive monthly Drug Regimen Reviews, we can identify potentially unnecessary medications and prevent unwanted drug side effects. These and other factors picked up on our reviews give us a unique opportunity to impact directly on each resident’s quality of life. In effect, with regard to our resident’s medications, we proudly serve as their Guardians.
Of course, there is so much more to being a Consultant Pharmacist in today’s Long Term Care facilities. We provide services to facilities with a wide variety of patient populations, from the traditional, to settings with unique populations such as Cerebral Palsy. Many of the facilities that contract with us for services provide cardiac, orthopedic, or other short term rehabilitation programs.
We provide a range of other services for contracting facilities, including preparatory services for JCAHO or State Surveys, Medication Pass Observations, and Inservice Education on a variety of medication related topics.
